ABOUT SAN GWANN

San Ġwann is a sought-after residential area lying just inland from Sliema. It is a recent development which grew in the 1960s from several smaller communities, with plenty of shops and cafes. Homes in San Ġwann benefit from the proximity to Sliema and St Julian's, without the high prices found in those towns.

San Ġwann is home to the Roman tower of Ta' Cieda, built in the third century. To support the growing population, cafes and bistros have sprung up throughout the town in recent years, including the very popular Sticky Fingers Eatery, known for their burgers.
