Għajnsielem, meaning ‘spring of peace’, is a municipality on the southeastern coast and the youngest village on the island. It is the first village beyond the main harbour and has a population of just over 3,000 residents.

The closest swimming and diving spot to Ghajnsielem is Xatt L-ahmar, a secluded, rocky bay whose name means ‘red beach’.
