New House with Traditional Gozitan Character and Features
Nestled at the end of a winding, quiet alley in Gozo's oldest village, you will find this house. It is being sold in shell condition. Once completed by its new owners, this house will have the features one would expect from a house of character, such as the old-style stone, arches and wooden apertures. Being newly designed, it will blend in today's modern lifestyle by having a deck area and pool on the ground floor, a basement with ample storage, an indoor pool and a games room.
On entering this house of character at ground floor level, you will have the pool on your right-hand side and the deck area stretching all the way to the open plan kitchen/living/dining area, and a bedroom straight ahead.
Just beyond the open plan will be a spiral staircase that takes you down to the basement and a second staircase taking you up to the first floor. Just behind the staircases, you can find the spare toilet servicing the ground floor.
Down to the basement, will be ample storage space under the entire house to convert into anything you wish. There is space for an indoor pool and games room too, as well as another bathroom.
The first floor has three bedrooms. The one located on the front side has an en-suite and overlooks the pool. The second bedroom, also with an en-suite, is located at the back and has a balcony running along the entire width of the house. The third bedroom on this floor is right in the middle of the floor.
At roof level, you will find a washroom and toilet and approximately 30 square metres of outside area, ideal for entertaining. Imagine watching the festa fireworks during a BBQ on a calm summer evening!

Xewkija, Gozo’s oldest village, is located between Ghajnsielem and the capital city. It is a quiet and laid-back village.
The village’s name is derived from the Maltese word “Xewk”, meaning "thistles", suggesting the area was once covered in them. Thistles are also Xewkija’s emblem.
Xewkija is known for its church, the Rotunda of Xewkija. It is the Seat of the Knights of the Order of St. John and was built from Maltese stone by local masons and craftsmen. It is not only the largest dome in Gozo, but one of the largest in the world, and this dome dominates the village.
Also interesting in Xewkija are the cart ruts coming from Borg Gharib, Mgarr ix-Xini, Ta' Cenc and Tas-Salvatur. Xewkija’s closet bay is Mgarr ix-Xini, one of Gozo’s most beautiful spots.
