Townhouse with Large, Calm and Sunny Garden
Recently reduced in price from €610,000.
This bright and spacious townhouse found in Xewkija, Gozo's oldest village, is just a few minutes' stroll from the island's largest church, The Rotunda of Xewkija, which is the Seat of the Knights of the order of St. John.
It is currently designed to be used as a one or two bedroom and one-floor house with stairs leading to the first floor, where the new owner can add more rooms as desired or enjoy the area as a terrace or roof garden.
Stepping into this house, the first thing that caught our eyes was the colourful and not so typical design of the tiles. Every room had a different design, each one quirkier than the one before.
This house is so well lit and flooded with natural light thanks to this wide hallway and the door and window that lead out onto the garden. It is remarkably spacious, ideal for hosting a summer gathering which makes its way into the beautiful garden.
On the ground floor just beyond the entrance are two rooms on either side, in a true townhouse style. They could serve as a lounge and a living room or how they were previously used as a bedroom and living room. Each of these rooms connects to the next two rooms.
The connecting rooms at the back each also lead out onto the terrace, one with a connecting bathroom. These rooms would ideally serve as a kitchen and living room, perhaps a lounge area, or maybe even a bedroom if it were desired to keep this house as a one-floor house.
The garden is glorious. It doesn't need much attention, as it is already nicely scattered with various fruit trees and teeming with colourful flowery shrubs along the terrace. There is a nice space in the centre for a pool or maybe a vegetable patch. Watering your plants in the summer won't be a problem as this house comes with a well. A little tidy up, personal touch, maybe some fairy lights strung along the trees and what a chill-out area this could be.
The first floor never needed to be finished for the previous owners and served nicely as a terrace overlooking the front street and back garden. More rooms could be built up here or this could be transformed into a roof garden. This house is just waiting to be turned into a home to be proud of.

Xewkija, Gozo’s oldest village, is located between Ghajnsielem and the capital city. It is a quiet and laid-back village.
The village’s name is derived from the Maltese word “Xewk”, meaning "thistles", suggesting the area was once covered in them. Thistles are also Xewkija’s emblem.
Xewkija is known for its church, the Rotunda of Xewkija. It is the Seat of the Knights of the Order of St. John and was built from Maltese stone by local masons and craftsmen. It is not only the largest dome in Gozo, but one of the largest in the world, and this dome dominates the village.
Also interesting in Xewkija are the cart ruts coming from Borg Gharib, Mgarr ix-Xini, Ta' Cenc and Tas-Salvatur. Xewkija’s closet bay is Mgarr ix-Xini, one of Gozo’s most beautiful spots.
