House of Character with Plans for Guesthouse
In the heart of Gozo long ago, this home was converted into a three-story notary's office. It has a chance now to change once again, this time back to its origins. Just a few minutes walk from the bus terminus, the Cittadella and main square, this spacious house would make a great guesthouse or even a large family home.
Presently the ground floor is made up of the three areas. We walk into the reception area which is connected to an office and leads to the stairwell where there is also a toilet.
There is an area of this house which is currently separated, it wasn't converted to be part of the offices. This area, measuring 34 square metres, could be an extension on each floor, thus enlarging the floors or perhaps turned into an outdoor space.
Onto the first floor, there are currently four rooms branching off of the landing, each filled with natural light due to this being a corner house. The house was well-maintained while being used as offices, leaving us with minimal structural work needing to be done.
Up onto the second floor, it is again split into four rooms, this time with a larger 25 square metre front room, with a balcony overlooking the square, a toilet and two other rooms.
As well as the main staircase taking us to the first and second floor, there is a narrow spiral stone staircase tucked away at the back, leading us from the ground floor past the first floor, the second floor and up on to the roof where we found ourselves impressed with the town and square views right beneath us.
Strip away the office layer, bring back its character and enjoy this large central house, whether it's just for you and your family or with many guests.

Victoria is Gozo’s capital city and the island’s heart, the largest and most populated area of Gozo. The name was chosen by the British government on the occasion of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Previous to this it was known as Rabat.
The Cittadella, standing the tests of time, sits high and proud in Victoria and attracts hundreds of tourists a day from around the world. Victoria has peaceful gardens, numerous churches and chapels, bustling squares and is the main shopping district.
Unlike most towns, Victoria celebrates two feasts, Saint George and Santa Marija, probably the busiest feasts on the islands. These are popular with the Maltese as well as Gozitan locals.
