Central Unconverted House of Character
In Fontana, the suburb of Victoria, just a 10-minute walk to the city centre we find this quaint four-bedroom house with some conversions already started.
It is a five-minute stroll away from "l-Għajn il-Kbira". This is a spring that was used in the old days for washing clothes and still sometimes used today. Fontana is the Italian word for a spring.
As we walk through the door we find a front courtyard measuring 35 square metres with an arched door straight across the courtyard leading into the living room that has beautiful traditional, low arches.
To the left of the courtyard, there is an open hallway the length of the yard which at the end connects to the living room.
At the front of the house, coming off the hallway is a room which could be used as an office or guest bedroom. To the back left of the living room, we find the combined kitchen and dining area. Just beyond the living room are a bathroom and the stairs leading us to the floor above.
At the top of the stairs, we find an open landing flooded with natural light thanks to the terrace ahead of the landing which overlooks the courtyard. Perhaps a nice spot for a morning cup of tea overlooking a pool?
On the left side of the landing is a room, which could be used as a single bedroom or a games room.
To the right of the landing is a bedroom with en-suite. Moving on past this bedroom to the right of the terrace is the bathroom and main bedroom measuring 19 square metres with a balcony and en-suite.
This house has great church views from its terrace, balcony and roof. Once this house has been fully converted, it will make a charming home not too far away from the island's beating heart.

Fontana is a tiny village that used to be a suburb of the city of Victoria and has a small population of fewer than a thousand residents. The local name is ‘It-Triq tal-Għajn’, meaning ‘the way to the spring’. It was given this name because of the big spring where locals used to wash their clothes.
The village is located just above Xlendi Bay, which is still a working fishing village. Fontana’s residents were also farmers who worked their fertile lands by the Lunzjata Valley.
Although one of the smallest villages, Fontana is famous for its spectacular firework displays and draws spectators from all over the island.
