Spacious Townhouse with Field Attached
This large townhouse is just a short stroll from the evergreen, picturesque Lunzjata valley, where you can also discover one of the oldest chapels on the island. The home needs modernisation, but is truly quite large and unique, and the attached field elevates it beyond many of the homes of this age.
Upon entering the spacious hallway, you are in one one of the ground floor’s first two rooms. The first room is currently designed to serve as the living area and the other is a formal sitting area.
Beyond these rooms is the stairwell and then onto the kitchen and dining area. Also on the ground floor is a large bathroom.
"Theatrical" is the word that comes to mind with this unconverted Gozitan townhouse. With its sweeping foliage, yellow walls, red curtains and marble staircase with statuary, the previous owners certainly had a flair for the dramatic.
The 56-square metre courtyard is currently split into two parts, one of which is home to a copse of palm trees. The second part is the best - a 270 square metre field just off the end of this courtyard that reaches through to an adjoining street.
The floor above has four rooms, three at the front and one at the back. The first of the front rooms measures nine square metres and has a balcony, the other two measure 16 and 25 square metres. The back room is 11 square metres with an en-suite, which is three square metres. Finally at the back of this floor is an area that leads out onto a terrace overlooking the field.
Once renovated, this house would make an ideal large family home for the green-fingered family or even converted to a guesthouse just a ten-minute walk away from Gozo’s city centre.
The property is sizeable, with approximate measurements as follows.
The ground floor first room (currently the living room) is 12 square metres. The sitting area is six square metres.
The first of the first-floor's four rooms is nine square metres, not including the balcony. The second and third are 16 and 25 square metres, and the third is 11 square metres, not including the en-suite.
The courtyard is 56 square metres, and the field, seen here, is 270.

Kercem is a small, sleepy village with a population of fewer than 2,000 residents. It is very close to Victoria but full of quiet areas such as the picturesque Lunzjata Valley, which the Knights of St. John were so enamoured with that they favoured it for their hunting.
Kercem was inhabited as early as 4500 BC and is well known for its cultural family fair, held out in the beautiful countryside. The village’s church is dedicated to Our Lady of Soccorso.
