House of Character with Country Views
This cosy, semi-detached house of character with country and village views has the possibility to have the third bedroom on the first floor. Situated between two protected areas in Ghajnsielem this 300-year-old home is skilfully converted.
Upon entering the front door, one finds themselves in the quaint courtyard which leads onto the ground floor entrance. Here there is a newly fitted kitchen in the open plan living/dining/kitchen area, which leads out on the pool and deckchair area. Also on the ground floor, there is a double bedroom, shower room and box room.
Back out to the courtyard, up the external staircase and across the 30 square metre terrace there is the second bedroom which has an en-suite shower. This house is fully furnished, fitted with air conditioning in every room and is ready to move into.
The front door opens into this quaint courtyard. The stairs lead to the first of the two bedrooms, and the glass doors open into the open-plan kitchen/living area.
The entrance area leads directly into the open-plan kitchen/living/dining area. The ground-floor bedroom, shower and box room also share this short corridor.
From this side of the open-plan area, you can see the sitting area ahead and the dining area up close. The entrance on the left comes from the front of the house, whereas the door on the right-hand side leads onto the pool area.
Here is the room from the opposite side, with the sitting area behind us. The window on the left brings in a lot of light straight from the pool area, although we imagine its owners value it more for a way to easily pass nibbles from inside to out.
Should the new owners wish, there is ample room to double the kitchen space.
This terrace overlooks the pool area and is large enough build a third bedroom while still having a small terrace.
With the pool and its country location, this could be an ideal second home for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Malta, although it's large enough to host a small family full-time.
Most of the traditional features found in this home are captured in this photo: rubble wall, wooden beams and a deep wall recess that has been fitted with a mirror.
Once you step outside you can see this uniquely shaped pool and the BBQ area straight ahead. The home is designed for easy, peaceful Gozo living.
It is being sold furnished and ready to move into.

Għajnsielem, meaning ‘spring of peace’, is a municipality on the southeastern coast and the youngest village on the island. It is the first village beyond the main harbour and has a population of just over 3,000 residents.
The Mgarr fishing village in Għajnsielem is the best spot for watching the sunrise over Comino or having a drink in the famous Gleneagles bar, a favourite haunt for the novelist A. J. Quinnell, best known for his novel ‘Man on Fire’.
Għajnsielem’s religious culture is strong, with over ten processions a year and its own real-life Bethlehem, which pulls in visitors every year from all over. Għajnsielem is home to Fort Chambray, built in the mid-18th century by the Order of Saint John. The closest swimming and diving spot to Ghajnsielem is Xatt L-ahmar, a secluded, rocky bay whose name means ‘red beach’.
