House of Character with Pool
This gorgeously converted house of character in the quiet area of Żejtun has all the features needed for a modern family: three bedrooms, three bathrooms, entertaining space inside and out, an interior courtyard and this amazing pool. Traditional Maltese features included in this careful renovation include wooden beams, flagstones and high ceilings. The newly fitted kitchen includes appliances still under warranty, and the many glass doors and windows draw in natural light throughout the home.
This home is perfect for any family that loves to spend as much time outdoors as in. This show was taken just in front of the dining room doors.
This three-bedroom home is truly something special. It's been a favourite of the Curbsy team since it first came into our world; we've laughed about buying it together as a team getaway.
The pool area includes a shower room, a jacuzzi and a play area for children. The private roof also has a games room overlooking the pool, seen here with the stained glass windows just peeking over the roofline.
The first room upon entering is this living room. The glass doors ahead lead to the interior courtyard, and just under our photographer's feet is a glass culvert that forms part of an interior water feature.
Here is a view of the living room from the courtyard doors. The front entrance is just down the stairs to the left. and the water feature can be seen trailing under the sofa. Not visible in this photo is a skylight, drawing natural light into what could otherwise be a dark space.
The modern, fitted kitchen includes appliances that are still under warranty.
We really like this breakfast counter, angled just so to get a second person in without crowding the walkway. But most of all, we love this view. The blue door seen in the centre of this image is for the stand-alone shower room behind the pool, and it's just darling.
The dining room sits between the kitchen and pool area. Straight ahead is a door to the main bedroom, which has this little Juliet balcony with blue doors.
At the bottom of the garden is this small pool house, which has a shower, toilet and changing area. We love this little blue door; it was such a quirky and charming design choice.
The main bedroom has a view into the pool area. Just out of frame is the Juliet balcony seen in the photo of the dining room.
The illuminated book nook in this double bedroom is such a nice bit of extra. This room's ceiling is very tall, one of the many lovely traditional features in this home.
This rooftop games room was added with the renovation, and you can see the contrast of the old stone with the new.
This could make a love, quiet home office for the new owrners.

Żejtun, situated in the southeast of the islands, has its origins in antiquity with a significant contribution to the islands' history, arts and commerce. It has a number of important heritage sites and the old urban cores, called Bisqallin and Ħal Bisbut, retain a traditional village feel with narrow streets, alleyways and typical Maltese houses.
